MQ: To help you
transcend and include individual and collective
conditioning, you must be sure that the Freudian Ego, the self-organizing principle—the
‘I’—is intact.
Here’s a simple example: Imagine the difficulty that
a severely neurotic person might have with sustaining a normal career. For a multitude of reasons, the
Freudian Ego in such a person is in a state of
disarray. Similarly, if
you’ve been meditating for years or engaged in other
lines of spiritual development, and you still can’t
seem to find your way, it is likely that the
(Freudian) Ego in
you is, to some degree, un-whole.

power of ‘now’ is only available when all of
you is in the now!
MQ:
Except in a few highly enlightened individuals, when
the self-organizing principle of the psyche is
incomplete, the unhealthy-ego is in charge.
P: What is the process of the making the ‘I’ whole?
MQ:
It begins by uncovering the aspects of yourself that
you have consciously or unknowingly rejected or
denied. This is called your shadow. The shadow is a component, albeit
pathological part of the Freudian Ego. It is the part
of the ‘I’ you have hidden away. It is the lie you
tell yourself, mostly unknowingly.
P:
Does my shadow contain both positive and negative
aspects of myself that I have denied, and not only the
negative aspects?
