What’s my Integral Life Practice?
According
to Wilber's Integral Theory, the four essential pillars
of Integral Life Practice (I.L.P.) are as follows:
1. Mind
2. Body
3. Spirit.
4. Shadow
|
Here's
a brief overview my practice:
|

Mind
- Developing
perspectives |
Practice: Daily
study of mind expanding works,
including of course, Andrew Cohen’s EnlightenNext
Magazine and Wilber’s Integral Theory.
Using AQAL in my work, writings, and talks.
|

Body
- Developing the
Physical |
Practice: Aerobic
workout 2 times per week.
Aerobics and weights 3 times per week.
7-8 hours of nightly sleep with a 1-hour afternoon
nap! (nice eh?!)
Healthy meat-based diet with lots of vegetable, no
salt or sauces.
|

Spirit
- Developing
Depth |
Practice: Sitting
(meditation) practice 5 days per week
|

Shadow
- Developing
Complexity |
Practice: Constant
awareness of arising emotional and
cognitive states. I am lucky in a way with this
because my
lovely wife, Debora,
who trained in Genpo Roshi’s Big Mind
Process, facilitates me when I get stuck on voices,
even
when we are enjoying a good bottle of wine…
|

Other
- Developing
Inter-subjective Depth
Practice: The
ever-deepening of the relationship with
my lovely wife Debora. Our relationship has been
completely
and absolutely free from all unnecessary emotional
and
psychological conflict since the first day... in
2004. |
